Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
This policy explains what data Launchwave ("we", "our", "us") collects when you visit https://www.launchwave.app, join the waitlist, request a launch readiness report or use the Launchwave app, and what we do with it.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Waitlist and Readiness Requests
When you join the waitlist or ask for a launch readiness report, we collect your email address, the product URL you enter (if any) and which page you signed up from.
1.2 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address and password. Your password is handled by AWS Cognito, our sign-in provider, and we never see it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
1.3 Payment Information
Payments are processed by Paddle, our payment provider. We receive your subscription status and billing details such as your plan and country, but we do not store your full payment details on our servers.
1.4 Your Product and Launch Content
We store what you tell us about your products and what you create in Launchwave: product descriptions, audiences, positioning, launch plans, weekly actions, drafts of posts and articles, notes, and images you upload or generate.
1.5 Public Information About Your Product
To analyze your product, we read the public page at the URL you give us. Our AI features may also search the web for public information about your product, your market, competitors and the communities where your customers gather. We do not read pages behind a login.
1.6 AI Usage Data
We keep the inputs you give our AI features and the outputs they produce, along with a record of each request (the feature, the model and its cost). We use these for:
- Showing you your plans and drafts
- Applying plan limits and preventing abuse
- Debugging and improving the quality of results
1.7 Connected AI Assistants
You can connect an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude or Codex to your Launchwave account. When you do, we record the connection, and the assistant can read and change your Launchwave data through the tools you allow. What you share with that assistant is also processed by its provider under your own agreement with them.
1.8 Analytics and Technical Data
If you accept analytics cookies on this website, Google Analytics collects device information, browser type, pages visited and traffic sources. Our hosting providers (AWS and Vercel) also keep technical logs, which can include your IP address. To limit abuse of public pages such as unsubscribe links, we store a hashed form of your IP address for up to a day.
1.9 Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your choices and, with your consent, measure how the website is used. Our Cookie Policy explains them in detail.
1.10 Email Choices and Launch Activity
We keep a record of your choices about optional emails (see section 2.2). Each time you opt in to or withdraw from a category, we record:
- The category
- The email address the choice applies to
- The date and time
- Where you made the choice: on your first visit to the app, in Account settings, or through an unsubscribe link
- The version of the wording and of this Privacy Policy you were shown
If you opt in to launch tips and reminders, we also use your activity in the app, such as a week's actions left untouched, to decide when to send them.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect to:
- Manage the waitlist and let you know when your spot opens
- Prepare your readiness report and launch plan
- Provide, maintain and improve Launchwave
- Power the AI features that analyze your product and draft your launch content
- Process payments and manage subscriptions and trials
- Communicate updates, support and service notices
- Send the optional emails you have chosen to receive
- Keep the platform secure and prevent misuse
Launchwave never posts, publishes or sends anything on your behalf. You decide what to publish and where.
2.1 Waitlist Emails
If you join the waitlist, we email you launch updates and the message that gives you access, nothing else. You can leave the waitlist at any time by replying to any of these emails or writing to us (see section 12).
2.2 Optional Emails
Once you have an account, Launchwave offers two kinds of optional email. You choose each one separately, and both are off until you turn them on:
- Launch tips and reminders: help getting started, and reminders to come back to your launch work. These are based on your activity: we look at what you do in the app, for example when a week's actions sit untouched, to decide when to send them.
- Product news and offers: new features in Launchwave and the occasional offer.
We never opt you in automatically: not when you create an account, verify your email address, start a trial, buy a paid plan, connect an AI assistant, or because of how you have used Launchwave before. You can choose on your first visit to the app or at any time in Account settings.
You can withdraw at any time, for either category or for all optional emails at once, in Account settings or through the unsubscribe link included in every optional email, which works without signing in. Withdrawal takes effect immediately, and these emails only start again if you choose them again.
Your choices apply only to the email address you made them for. If you change your email address, both categories are off until you opt in again for the new address.
Essential emails are sent whatever you choose, because we need them to provide the service: messages about your account, sign-in and security (such as verification codes), and billing. Your choices here also don't affect receipts and other billing emails sent directly by Paddle, our payment provider.
3. How AI Providers Process Your Data
We use OpenAI's models to power our AI features, including analyzing your product, researching your market, drafting launch content and generating header images. This means your product information, inputs and generated content are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI does not use data sent through its API to train its models unless we opt in, and we do not.
In some cases, authorized Launchwave staff may review limited content from your account to resolve issues you report, investigate misuse or improve the quality of results.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share data only when necessary to provide the service. This includes:
- Paddle: payment processing
- OpenAI: AI model processing
- AWS: hosting, database, file storage and sign-in (AWS Cognito)
- Vercel: website hosting
- Google: Google sign-in, website analytics and waitlist records
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data Retention
- Waitlist entries: kept until you leave the waitlist or ask us to delete them.
- Account data and launch content: kept until you request deletion.
- Deleted products: removed from your account at once, and their data and images are purged after 30 days.
- Server logs: retained for 1 month.
- Records of your email choices and the data behind unsubscribe links: kept for as long as your account exists, and deleted together with it.
You can request deletion of your account, waitlist entry or content at any time.
6. Legal Basis (GDPR)
As a business operating in Spain, we process data on these bases:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): waitlist emails, analytics cookies, and the optional emails described in section 2.2
- Performance of a contract: providing the Launchwave service, including essential emails about your account, security and billing
- Legitimate interest: security, abuse prevention and service improvement
- Compliance with legal obligations, such as keeping billing records
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access your data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account, waitlist entry and content
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Export your data
- Withdraw your consent at any time, for example to optional emails through Account settings or an unsubscribe link, without affecting processing that took place before you withdrew
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, such as the Spanish Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD)
To exercise any right, reply to any email you have received from Launchwave, or message us on X at @launchwave_ai.
8. Age Requirement
Launchwave is a tool for founders and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Data Security
We protect your information using industry-standard measures, including:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS)
- Encryption at rest
- Secure infrastructure provided by AWS and Vercel, and payments handled by Paddle
- Unsubscribe links stored only in hashed form
No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
10. International Data Transfers
Our main infrastructure runs in the EU (AWS, Ireland). Some providers we use (for example OpenAI, Paddle, Google and Vercel) may process data outside the EU. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when necessary. If changes are significant, we will notify you in the app or by email.
12. Contact
If you have questions or privacy requests, reply to any email you have received from Launchwave, or message us on X at @launchwave_ai.
